It really is a good neighborhood to be in within the city. I would have no qualms about my dd attending - but it is NY so you need to be city savvy to some extent. [View Full Report] |

Standard college security protocols. Even a program that if you are outside the campus in NYC and you feel unsafe, you can enter any shop that shows a special poster and they will assist you. [View Full Report] |

As safe as one can be in NYC. Blue lights etc. Kids have an orientation to the city and city life when they enroll. [View Full Report] |

Guards every where (but not intrusively). Morningside Heights is close to Harlem, but not in the least bit dangerous (at least no more than any other neighborhood in NYC). [View Full Report] |

Especially considering the NYC location, I felt very safe. According to our tour guide, Morningside Heights is the 2nd safest precinct in Manhattan (or maybe in all of NYC?). [View Full Report] |

Despite being in NYC, CC seemed very secure and hearing about the emergency hotline (call the # and security will come get you and take you back to campus) erased any fears my mom had about CC. [View Full Report] |

Columbia is very safe. They have the blue light system, safe havens, and an escort system if you need them. However, the tour guide said she had never heard of anyone actually using them. [View Full Report] |

I thought it was good. It is NYC, but there are plenty of safeguards w/ ID card entrance to buildings, and the campus is more self-contained from the city than other urban colleges I visited. [View Full Report] |
