PARKING IS EXPENSIVE! I parked in a garage near the school, and it was very expensive so I recommend taking a taxi/bus. [View Full Report] |

Parking in NYC is a disaster. I highly recommend taking the train or bus, and walking/ public transporting everywhere. It is much faster, cheaper and just easier to do. [View Full Report] |

We used trains (to NJ) and mostly taxis. Flew into Newark which was supremely inconvenient when NYU/Tisch suddenly realized 2/16 was a holiday and postponed our info session to 2/17. [View Full Report] |

Subway is the most convenient as it stops right outside of columbia's gates, but it's $2 per ride (w/o student pass). [View Full Report] |

The 1-Train seemed very safe. I was surprised how much nicer the NYC subway is than the Chicago 'L' (which is our equivalent of a subway). Good luck finding parking in New York. [View Full Report] |

It's NYC. There is so much to see, so much to do. I saw Avenue Q, walked around Central Park, visited Chinatown/Times Square, and rode the ferry (gorgeous night view of the city). [View Full Report] |

We rode the subway while in the city, which was easy enough to navigate and which probably every Columbia student will want to use if they ever want to get downtown. [View Full Report] |

Transportation of course is very convenient. Right outside campus is a subway station and multiple buses, including a free bus that takes you to the Columbia Medical Center that is more uptown. [View Full Report] |

Use the Subway if you're staying downtown. You'll get to the college in about 5-10 minutes. Definitely the fastest way around the city. [View Full Report] |
