Visit Activities:
Information Session:
Yes - It was really good! The guy who gave the presentation was totally funny and interesting.
Campus Tour:
Yes - Good tour. The campus was really pretty. A new building was being built right in the middle, so that wasn't pretty, but it looks like it will be cool when it's done next year.
Campus:
Friendliness/Courtesy of Students:
5 - Excellent
Super nice people!
Friendliness/Courtesy of Staff:
5 - Excellent
I only met some professors and the people in the admissions office, but they were really nice.
Appearance of Campus:
5 - Excellent
Really pretty and lots of trees.
Building/Facilities Maintenance/Cleanliness:
5 - Excellent
I really liked the new rec center and the new computer science and engineering building since that's going to be my major.
Dormitories:
4 - Very Good
Hopefully I get into the newest dorm when I'm a student! Construction is just starting.
Security/Safety:
5 - Excellent
Super safe! My mom said she even talked to one of the campus police officers outside the library when I was in my information session.
Overall Campus Impression:
5 - Excellent
I liked it almost as much as UW and WWU and way more than WSU or CWU! Almost done with my college tours in the state. Woot!
Off-Campus:
Area Immediately Around Campus:
5 - Excellent
It's awesome! I like to ski and mountain bike, so that's going to be cool.
City/Town/Community:
4 - Very Good
Cheney is safe (which my mom loved), but it is a small town, like 10,000 people not counting students. At least it's super close to Spokane and not in the middle of nowhere like WSU and CWU! Craz
Campus Visit Notes for Eastern Washington University
Visit Description:
Our tour guide was really good and totally honest, even about some of the things she didn't like about the school. I really liked that because some schools are just so fake.
My mom kept asking if it was huge party school like WSU, but everyone said it was pretty laid back. There are some frats and sororities, but nothing super crazy.
The bus is free to Spokane, so that's nice.
Hotel/Lodging Recommendations or Comments:
We stayed downtown Spokane. It was nice.
Dining/Restaurant Recommendations or Comments:
Ate on campus. It was good, probably better than most.
Other Comments (Transportation, local attractions, parking, etc.):
Love the waterfalls downtown! There's so much water! And definitely feed the garbage eating goat!!!
