Campus Visit Notes for Harvard University
Visit Description:
Because this college visit was to Harvard, I had lots of expectations and pre-conceived ideas of the campus. Harvard truly went beyond even my highest expectations. The campus is truly inviting, and completely welcoming. I thought lots of places would be for students and other affiliates of Harvard only, but pretty all of campus was open for visitation. Annenberg Hall was an exception. Apparently too many visitors were too intruding and even took pictures of students eating! (A.H. is one of the dining halls and is commonly compared as being similar in appearance to the Great Hall in the Harry Potter movies :) I was lucky though, and was able to see inside for a few moments as there were only around a dozen students there at the time. I would advise all who plan to visit Harvard to talk to as many students as possible and go during the day and night if you can. I was surprised by how alive the campus was during the evening. The day I visited alone, there were several concerts and plays with free admission on-campus and nearby.
Dining/Restaurant Recommendations or Comments:
Make a trip to Faneuil Hall. It's a huge market that's great for getting a taste of Boston. For something a bit more upscale, try Legal Sea Foods near Faneuil Hall. The best seafood I'v
Other Comments (Transportation, local attractions, parking, etc.):
The subway system, or the "T", is great. Gets you everywhere you would need to go. Skip the rental car and go for the public transportation!
