Visit Activities:

Information Session: Yes - By far the worst session of the dozen we attended. OK, so Harvard doesn't need to spend any effort on recruiting, but still. Two unprepared current students and one rambling admissions employee.

Campus Tour: Yes - Bad. Partly because of all the road construction/Firetruck sirens/random city noise that drowned out the tour guide. Partly because we saw like three buildings, no dorms, no dining halls.

Road construction/landscaping trucks/lawn mowers everywhere. I guess that's good but frustrating and distracting during a tour.

Campus Visit Notes for Harvard University

Visit Description:

OK, so maybe it was the expectation that the best University in the world would have an amazing info session/prospective student tour. But that would be wrong. And probably understandable. With a <8% acceptance rate maybe they're trying to discourage applicants. If so, they succeeded. Harvard had by far the least prepared student tour guides (both of them) of the dozen schools we visited; a defensive admissions employee ("Yeah, you'll have TA's but they're really good. And those classes with 1000 students just show how popular they are"). And the tour was worthless. Was hoping S would be turned on by the school but in fact the opposite occurred. And I have to agree with him.
