Visit Activities:
Campus Tour:
Yes - I took a "Hahvahd" tour, which was very entertaining, although I didn't get to see as much of the campus as I would have wished. The Hahvahd tours are a student run business.
Campus:
Friendliness/Courtesy of Students:
3 - Good
I didn't get to interact much with the students besides my tour guide, but they seemed pretty good.
Friendliness/Courtesy of Staff:
3 - Good
Yeah, well I didn't get to interact with them much either but, um, the waitress at the on campus Dunkin' Donuts was very kind.
Appearance of Campus:
5 - Excellent
As I expected, the Harvard campus was absolutely beautiful. One of the most gorgeous campuses I've ever seen. The buildings are red brick and everything's covered with ivy.
Building/Facilities Maintenance/Cleanliness:
3 - Good
I don't really have much to say for this. Everything was clean.
Dormitories:
Didn't see inside them, but they're beautiful on the outside.
Security/Safety:
3 - Good
As good as any college. Nothing special.
Overall Campus Impression:
3 - Good
A very beautiful campus and Cambridge is truly awesome.
Off-Campus:
Area Immediately Around Campus:
5 - Excellent
The area around campus is great! There are many places conveniently located around Harvard, such as the T train station and little shops.
City/Town/Community:
5 - Excellent
Cambridge is a very cool town! It's like a very, very, very small Boston.
Campus Visit Notes for Harvard University
Visit Description:
My tour guide was very energetic and funny. If you think everyone at Harvard is a bookie and nerd, you haven't met him! He did show us the John Harvard statue, which as he fervently told us, is NOT of John Harvard, the dorm building where Facebook was created, and the bell tower with no top bell because Russia gave us that bell, and during the Cold War they demanded it back.
Dining/Restaurant Recommendations or Comments:
Try out Pinnocio's Pizza on campus! It's great.
Other Comments (Transportation, local attractions, parking, etc.):
I recommend you get around Cambridge by the T train. Parking's not great.
