Visit Activities:


Admissions Interview: Yes - D said it was worthwhile.

Campus Tour: Yes - Negative 25 wind chill, new snow on the ground-tour guide did nothing to try to ensure our comfort.

Quite strange---saw very few students. It was not spring break. It was m,orning---maybe they don't get up before noon on a weekday??

Pretty campus until one enters the poorly maintained buildings. Only nice building was new athletic center.

Campus Visit Notes for Macalester College


Visit Description:

Don't know where everyone was. Saw no professors, hardly any students. It was very cold-perhaps they were hibernating. The tour guide was a bit "out there" and frankly, set the tone for the visit. She was not very knowledgeable( a freshman), did nothing to try to ensure our comfort(couldn't we discuss this inside?!), and although pleasant, did not make either D nor myself feel that MAC would be a good fit.

Hotel/Lodging Recommendations or Comments:

Hotel St. Paul-would never stay anywhere else in this beautiful city.
