Visit Activities:
Admissions Interview:
Yes - D. interviewed with an Admissions Counselor, quite enjoyed the converation. D was offered the chance to ask questions, then the interview focussed on D's interests.
Information Session:
Yes - Informative presentation, touching on admissions, life at Middlebury, financial aid, and how Middlebury perceives itself as different from LACs.
Campus Tour:
Yes - Middlebury is an incredibly beautiful campus. One wall of the dinig hall we ate in looks pout at the mountains. There is a variety building styles, ut it all hands together. Tour guide was very informative, offered information about the outing club, wh

Friendliness/Courtesy of Students:
4 - Very Good
Students readily gave directions. Classes were in session, people mooving around the campus. Tour guide was greeted by friends.

Staff was courteous and helpful, offered dining hall vouchers.
Appearance of Campus:
5 - Excellent
The setting is gorgeous - can see mountains in the distance. A road runs through campus, but cars stop - a two-lane road. Middlebury also has it's own Ski Bowl.
Building/Facilities Maintenance/Cleanliness:
5 - Excellent
Buoildings were clean and well-maintained. There are some beautiful facilities - a snack bar/dining option and a new space for college activites (dances, parties etc).
Dormitories:
4 - Very Good
Small but doable dorm rooms.
Security/Safety:
No complaints from our tour guide.
Overall Campus Impression:
5 - Excellent
Middlebury is somewhat isolated - Burlington about 45-60 minutes away, but it seems that many performers, speakers etc come to campus. Bands heading from NY tend to head to Burlington - and often come to Middlebury.

The area around town includes a small street with shops and restaurants, which we did not have time to wxplore. Middlebury is a prettier town than many we have seen on our tour of LACs.
City/Town/Community:
We didn't have time to explore further.
Campus Visit Notes for Middlebury College
Visit Description:
D. loved this campus and I can see why. It is abolutely beautiful. There is lots going on, including clubs, political organizations, etc. Students are quite busy, but seem to love what they are doing.
Hotel/Lodging Recommendations or Comments:
We stayed at Marriott Courtyard, which was just fine. there were several restaurants - a variety - nearby.
