Campus Visit Notes for New York University

Visit Description:

New York University is most definately NOT a school for everyone. If you are looking for a traditional college experience with a green campus, quads, and brick buildings; you may not want the rush and spread of NYU. However, on the reverse side of the coin, if you are a big city person, NYU is for you! There is just so much to offer at this school, I find myself loving it, whether or not it truly has a "campus". There are many undergraduate schools that make up the university (college of arts and sciences, stern business, steinhardt, tisch, gallitin independent study, etc...) and a whole wealth of majors and programs. Study abroad is also extremely popular at NYU, and there are literally a ton of countries that you can study in. They are also opening two new schools in Abu Dhubai and Tel Aviv.
Obviously, being in the city is additionally beneficial when it comes to internships and job placements, pretty much for any career discipline that you are considering. And NYU has supposed good internship placement recs. Our tour guide also told us about great discounts students receive on things such as: Broadway ticket prices, restaurants, museum entrance fees, etc. This would help me, personally, a ton since I am a obsessed with Broadway, and saving money on tickets could help out a ton when I am in college ;]
Overall, this was a great visit, even if I am still mulling out whether or not I would be happy at a school that does not have a traditional campus, even if I am in my favorite place on Earth...=]
