Visit Activities:
Information Session:
Yes - A very large session that unfortunatly did not leave very much time for questions. It was a very average info session.
Campus Tour:
Yes - Really great tour guide, but my tour was HUGE probably 40 people. I was a little dissapointed that we could not go into the Library.
Campus:
Friendliness/Courtesy of Students:
4 - Very Good
There were not many students on campus when i visited (it was summer) and there were a lot of summer camp kids, so i have no idea how it is during the actual school year.
Friendliness/Courtesy of Staff:
5 - Excellent
Appearance of Campus:
5 - Excellent
I was STUNNED by this campus. There were many new buildings there was way more green space than i expected since it's an urban campus.
Building/Facilities Maintenance/Cleanliness:
5 - Excellent
All of the buildings we saw on the tour were very well maintained and were in fantastic shape.
Dormitories:
5 - Excellent
we did not see a freshman dorm, instead we saw some upperclassmen appartments, but they were STUNNING, absolutly pristine.
Security/Safety:
5 - Excellent
they have their own 55 man police force and a blue box system. They were also ranked as the second safest urban campus in the country.
Overall Campus Impression:
5 - Excellent
I was absolutly amazed by my experience!
Off-Campus:
Area Immediately Around Campus:
4 - Very Good
There is a lot to do around campus and it is near the back bay and all of the downtown attractions of Boston. It can be a little sketchy if you pass Columbus st, but it is honestly a fine area.
City/Town/Community:
5 - Excellent
come on, it's BOSTON! college town USA!
Campus Visit Notes for Northeastern University
Visit Description:
I've grown up just outside of Boston, so i've always known Northeastern, and i was so impressed by my campus visit! I was absolutly shocked to see how green and new and well maintained the campus was. It is clear that they have recently put a lot of money into new dorms and facilities. Everything was well laid out and very clean. It did not feel grungy or over-used (cough cough BU). It is the perfect urban campus (IMO). There were adirondack chairs all over the place and it was so friendly and bustling. There was just an energy about this campus, i could feel that there was so much going on and it was so alive. I stronly encourage anyone to go visit the campus, it was a game-changer for me.
Other Comments (Transportation, local attractions, parking, etc.):
There are 4 green line stops on campus and Ruggles (orange line) is right there.
