Campus Visit Notes for Old Dominion University
Visit Description:
We visited this college and were pleasantly surprised. This is my son's safety and since they offered him a scholarship, we thought to check it out. There is a nice mixture of old and new. The campus is clean, the people nice.
If you can get into the Honors program, do it. The Honors dorm is new and you will get a single room shared with a suitemate and common area.
It's close to the beach- about 20 minutes away. The school has a reputation as a suitcase school but with 18K undergrads, I think if a lot of them leave on the weekend, it would give it a nice small college feel. The college is doing a lot to offer something to do every weekend in order to give those kids who do stay on campus something to do.
Overall I would give this a B+. Son is seriously considering attending based on this visit.
