Visit Activities:
Campus Tour:
Yes - Beautiful campus... But a bit of a walk because of the size.
Overnight Visit:
Yes - Stayed with current Princeton freshmen in their dorms. Was great and got to see students outside of the classroom.
Classroom Visit:
Yes - Not that different from every other college class. No matter what people say, Princeton is just another school.
Campus:
Friendliness/Courtesy of Students:
5 - Excellent
Hosts were great but even when walking around, you could ask any student for directions and they would. E glad to help you.
Friendliness/Courtesy of Staff:
5 - Excellent
Very friendly and want you have a positive experience.
Appearance of Campus:
5 - Excellent
Large, Gothic, gorgeous.
Building/Facilities Maintenance/Cleanliness:
5 - Excellent
Even the older buildings were fairly well maintained and the newer buildings like Frist and Butler were spic and span.
Dormitories:
5 - Excellent
Even in Campbell Hall, the oldest and "worst" dorms, there were positives (like free laundry and the largest rooms) despite the three floor climb down into the basement to go to the bathroom
Security/Safety:
5 - Excellent
Walked around past midnight (after watching a free movie at the local theatre!) and still felt safe.
Overall Campus Impression:
5 - Excellent
AMAZING!!
Off-Campus:
Area Immediately Around Campus:
5 - Excellent
Very small and isolated feeling. You really understand what they mean by the "Orange Bubble" after you visit.
City/Town/Community:
5 - Excellent
Small and safe. Feels like it could be a quieter, more suburban version of Manhattan.
Campus Visit Notes for Princeton University
Visit Description:
My admissions interview was in my hometown with a recent grad (2008/9 or sometime similar) in a coffee shop. Very informal and laid back.
Dining/Restaurant Recommendations or Comments:
Fro-yo! Whether it be Twist or Thomas Sweets, get yo' self some fro-yo!
