Visit Activities:

Information Session: Yes - Informative, but I knew most the information before going. The speaker was very nice, had a Bostonian accent.

Campus Tour: Yes - Wonderful. Got there really early so I walked around the campus once before the tour. Really amazed at the interior of many of the building. The tour guide was very informative and helpful.

All the students seem to have fun. People are very nice there. One student even yelled "Welcome to Rice" when we were walking. Our tour guide and his roommate was very nice and let us see th

Rice is in Houston? What? (Just Kidding) Trees all around, not many roads inside the campus. You can get everywhere by walking easily and why wouldn't you? Feels like a campus, not a city.

Absolutely stunning. Architecture is amazing. Completely unlike the old looking Architecture at Ivies, Duke and U Chicago. The color of the buildings creates a warm feeling. Campus is very clean.

Dormitories:

The Residential Colleges are amazing. The dorm rooms for underclassmen are similar to what you expect a dorm to look like (at Brown). But the upperclassmen dorms buildings are amazing.

Security/Safety:

Rice University Police are very nice. They not only help keep people safe, they help out people who need help (they helped a kid whose car had issues). Campus & surrounding areas felt very safe.

Houston is a great city. Period. Gotta visit to appreciate it.

Campus Visit Notes for Rice University

Visit Description:

Words can't really describe my visit. It was wonderful/unrivaled/(insert other synonyms here). Compared to the other campus I visited, Rice wins by far. Go visit and you'll be blown away.

Hotel/Lodging Recommendations or Comments:

Stayed at Holiday Inn by the Reliant Stadium. The hotel was nice. They have a shuttle going to Rice (although we didn't take it cause we had a car).

Dining/Restaurant Recommendations or Comments:

Houston food was good. Didn't really look for good restaurants. Just the typical Olive Garden and such.

Other Comments (Transportation, local attractions, parking, etc.):

So many local attractions. Wished we spent more time in the city. The natural history museum is great. Herman Park is gorgeous.
