Visit Activities:

Admissions Interview: No - None offered.

Information Session: Yes - Over all, the information sessions was short and sweet. They got to point and dismissed the group for the next part of the tour.

Campus Tour: Yes - The campus seems tiny to me and reminds me of a community college. In fact, I think that the local community college (MCCC) may even have more acreage than Rider. o.O

Classroom Visit: Yes - I visited the classroom of Dr. Mendelo (I'm sure I just butchered his name), a professor of Political Science. He was a wonderful teacher and was highly informative. He was also very personable.

Campus:

Friendliness/Courtesy of Students:
4 - Very Good
4 - Very Good
With the exception of the 1% of students with their noses in the air , the student vibe was wonderful.

Friendliness/Courtesy of Staff:
5 - Excellent
5 - Excellent
Great staff: they are personable and seem genuinely interested.

Appearance of Campus:
3 - Good
3 - Good
It was a bit small, but otherwise fine.

Building/Facilities Maintenance/Cleanliness:
3 - Good
3 - Good
I saw minor glitches, but which university doesn't have that?

Dormitories:
2 - Fair
2 - Fair
I like the walls and the great closet space, but otherwise the dorms were horrible! The hallways scared me a bit and the rooms appeared smaller than my current room (at home) with all the furniture!

Security/Safety:
5 - Excellent
5 - Excellent
Rider has an excellent security system: blue lights, student escort, across the street from the police station, 24/7 campus monitoring-you name it, they have it!

Overall Campus Impression:
3 - Good
3 - Good
It was a nice university, but the renovations couldn't come sooner!

Off-Campus:

Area Immediately Around Campus:
5 - Excellent
5 - Excellent
I'm used to this area, but it is still a very nice one. The prices for off-campus living may be a little steep for some, though.

City/Town/Community:
5 - Excellent
5 - Excellent
I LOVE MERCER COUNTY! It has the best towns in all of New Jersey (in my humble opinion, of course).

Campus Visit Notes for Rider University

Visit Description:

I think what I've already said pretty much sums it up.

And honestly, I don't see why it's so expensive.

Dining/Restaurant Recommendations or Comments:

Daly's hall has fantastic food! I loved it!

Other Comments (Transportation, local attractions, parking, etc.):

Parking: $200 fee for freshman/new-comers to keep a car on campus. It's a good thing it's a one-time fee.
