Visit Activities:
Information Session:
Yes - Very open, pleasant session. Many opportunities for asking questions.
Campus Tour:
Yes - Stunning campus! Wonderful architecture, clean, up to date facilities. Tour guide was very personable and informed.
Campus:
Friendliness/Courtesy of Students:
5 - Excellent
Unfortunately since my visit was in the middle of summer, I didn't get the opportunity to chat with many students, but the ones I did meet were very friendly and welcoming.
Friendliness/Courtesy of Staff:
5 - Excellent
I only met one staff member, but she was very helpful and made me feel right at home.
Appearance of Campus:
5 - Excellent
One of the greatest things about Southwestern. The campus is beautiful and filled with trees and nice walking paths.
Building/Facilities Maintenance/Cleanliness:
5 - Excellent
Every building I visited was very well maintained and clean.
Dormitories:
4 - Very Good
The dorm room I saw was a pretty decent size, and best of all is the suite style bathroom! There are no community bathrooms at Southwestern. So that is definitely a big plus!
Security/Safety:
5 - Excellent
I felt like I was in a very safe area, and never once felt unsafe or uncomfortable. Also, there are police on campus.
Overall Campus Impression:
5 - Excellent
I LOVED my visit to Southwestern! It only made me fall more in love with the school.
Off-Campus:
Area Immediately Around Campus:
4 - Very Good
Nice area.
City/Town/Community:
4 - Very Good
Georgetown isn't very large, but there is a pretty good selection of restaurants and shopping right around campus. And if you want that big city experience, Austin is only about 30 minutes away.
Campus Visit Notes for Southwestern University
Visit Description:
I had a wonderful experience at Southwestern. It was already one of my top schools, but after my visit I'm even more excited about it! There are virtually no "cons" about this school in my opinion. I learned during my time there that the campus is 100% wind powered! How cool is that? The student body seems genuinely excited to learn and passionate about their school. The career services center is phenomenal and the school offers a variety of great academics, which is the most important thing. The buildings are extrememly nice and the campus is just beautiful! Overall I really enjoyed my visit, and I know that I will be very happy if I end up attending this school.
