Tour guides were very nice and informative. They did not talk down to you and were honest about the pros and cons of the university. Students walking to class would smile or nod their heads, not too m

Campus Visit Notes for The George Washington University

Visit Description:

First college we toured, got there at 9:45 for the 10:00 info session and then the tour was at 11. Info session was very helpful, and they went over almost everything I needed to know. On the tour we walked around the main part of campus which showed some dorms and class buildings. Not too much car traffic on campus, and a metro station right by the medical center which was very helpful in touring, let alone attending. Later in the day we swung by the mount vernon campus which was small and somewhat compact but at the same time quiet and beautiful, and situated in a somewhat wealthy neighborhood just a couple of miles from the downtown campus.

Hotel/Lodging Recommendations or Comments:

Use hotels.com. We got a 4 star hotel, the meredien, for $90 a night.

Dining/Restaurant Recommendations or Comments:

Tysons corner has many options for food but is a little bit out of dc.

Other Comments (Transportation, local attractions, parking, etc.):

Metro system is a lifesaver, and car traffic isn't too bad.
