Visit Activities:


Information Session: Yes - Staff seemed very interested in getting the students involved in research, clubs, etc.

Campus Tour: Yes - Beautiful campus and very clean; especially since the buildings are relatively new.

Overnight Visit: Yes - Bathrooms / showers could be better but decent for a college.

Classroom Visit: Yes - Up to date classes with outlets for laptops at every desk.

Didn't meet too much staff in person. Most of the tours, etc. were carried out by students.

Not too much to do right outside the college (besides uni town center) but it's close by alot of fun places.

Campus Visit Notes for University of California-Irvine


Visit Description:

Overall the college seems awesome. It's relatively new (started in the 60's) so the campus and the classrooms are all neat and clean with modern buildings. 10 minutes or so from the beach and nearby tourist attractions. Not to mention the countless research opportunities that were discussed in the info. sessions.

Dining/Restaurant Recommendations or Comments:

Visit the University Town Center; lots of variety. In n Out to Chinese to Persian.

Other Comments (Transportation, local attractions, parking, etc.):

Newport Beach, Knotts, Disneyland, Orange County, Six Flags (if you're willing to drive)
