Visit Activities:


Admissions Interview: Yes - It wasn't officially planned but the admissions dept was happy to take time for me to answer questions about campus culture, diversity, housing, and student projects. Not req, but highly recomend

Information Session: Yes

Campus Tour: Yes - It was good, you take a tour bus through the expansive, wooded campus, get out of the bus while looking at some buildings before going back on the bus to look at another part of the school.

If u like redwood forests and ocean views (about 5-10 mins by car/bike to the beach), UC Santa Cruz is for you. There are deer all over campus, lots of biking trails, and a good aborideum of plants.

They looked nice and clean on the outside and students seemed happy to live there unfortunatly we didn't go inside. Housing is garanteed for new freshmen and transfer students for two years I th

I loved my time here. If you are a city person, san jose and the SF BAY are on the other side of the mountains & santa cruz is 5 mins away from school. Monterey Bay is beautiful. It is a seaside t

If you are young and liberal, like me, santa crz is for you. If you are conservativce, you may not be welcomed as much. But SC welcomes everyone, they are probably as liberal as cal, maybe friendlier.

Campus Visit Notes for University of California Santa Cruz


Visit Description:

There are all sorts of cool stuff to see at the school. Shakesphere Santa Cruz preforms in the summer on campus, preforming plays for students. It is free for them. People are happy to be here and I'm sure you will be too. I visited in January with my dad, an alumnus of U.C.S.C
I don't know which one of us was more impressed or which one had th best time seeing all the cool buildings and surroundings at santa cruz.

Dining/Restaurant Recommendations or Comments:

There are lots of good healthy restaurants in santa cruz. There are some FABULOUS seafood places on the wharf. I went to a great seafod place there with indoor tables, but right over the water in view
