Campus Visit Notes for University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill

Visit Description:

We arrived there an hour and ten minutes before the tour began. I really wanted a good, FREE parking spot so it didn't bother me to wake up early... There were a lot of prospective students there, it was hard to walk in Jackson Hall without bumping into one or their parents... a nice guy who works at admissions led us into a room where our tour guides would be introduced. They all seemed very nice, but I went with this girl named Avi (sp?) who double majored in bio and psych... she led us around campus and gave descriptions on meal plans, residence halls, student body, etc... She was extremely nice and helpful. She was willing to answer parents and students' questions. I thought it was cute how she said she was working at the Starbucks on Franklin and then she met Jim from "The Office." Before the tour ended she told us her college admissions story and how she was torn between UVA and UNC. I felt like I could connect with her more when she did that... After the tour Avi led us into a large lecture room (can't remember the name of the hall at the moment) where an admission conselor talked to us for about 45 mins. She answered questions about EA, RD, out of state applicants, tuition, scholarships... After the session my family and I took pictures at the Old Well and then went to the Student Store in the Pit for UNC Apparel. Afterwards, we got lost and my Dad asked a student who was getting ready to ride his bike. The student graciously helped us and told us directions back to Jackson Hall. I had a great time. :)

Hotel/Lodging Recommendations or Comments:

We stayed at the Residence Hill - Marriott in Chapel Hill. The staff was very nice, and a complementary breakfast is served everyday. Its location to UNC was great. The drive couldn't have taken

Dining/Restaurant Recommendations or Comments:

Other Comments (Transportation, local attractions, parking, etc.):
