Pitt is in Oakland, which is pretty safe. It's mostly college students anyway. I think the security could have been more high tech, but it was fine. [View Full Report] |

We spent two days in Oakland. Even though it is urban, it feels safe. I would have no qualms sending D there. I think anyone with some basic street smarts would be fine. [View Full Report] |

Pitt's security seems top notch. Sign-ins for every dorm, student-only facilities, SaffeRider and the blue Police Boxes all added to this feeling. I felt good, for being in a city. [View Full Report] |

I didn't feel uneasy walking around campus at all. There are about 100 police call boxes all over campus with about 100 police officers on staff just for the university. I think if you would use common sense with your belongings and don't walk [View Full Report] |

Pitt is kind of a high crime area--but Pitt has done their best (successfully) to keep their students safe. They have booths set up about every 200 yards to call police for help if necessary--and the statistics say they work to keep the crime low relativ [View Full Report] |
