Visit Activities:

Campus Tour: Yes - Great Campus tour. Made everyone seem so friendly and normal.

Campus:

Friendliness/Courtesy of Students:

As a current student of USC, when I was touring here, I thought the campus was AMAZINGLY friendly. However, now that I am at school, I ask myself daily, where did the nice people go?

Friendliness/Courtesy of Staff:

For the most part, my teachers this last semester were awesome and cared about their students. Even though it was my first semester and classes were hard, the faculty was very decent.

Appearance of Campus:
4 - Very Good

Everyone who visits USC knows what a beautiful campus we have. I enjoy walking to class because of the beautiful surroundings. You definitely don't feel like you're in downtown Los Angeles

Building/Facilities Maintenance/Cleanliness:
4 - Very Good
4 - Very Good
The buildings at USC are nice. They are building a new student center which will be awesome! Some are old, but most are maintained well.

Dormitories:
2 - Fair
2 - Fair
The dorms are not what one would expect from USC. The best dorms, New and North are the oldest, but have the best location. The nicest, Parkside has the best rooms and private bathrooms but is far.

Security/Safety:
3 - Good
3 - Good
I feel safe walking around at school at most hours of the day. Don't walk alone at night and be aware of your surroundings and you'll be just fine.

Overall Campus Impression:
3 - Good
3 - Good
The campus itself is really nice. The people on the other hand are not as welcoming. Still looking for the nice people at USC. They're very hard to find.

Off-Campus:

Area Immediately Around Campus:
2 - Fair
2 - Fair
It's not as bad as people say it is. I feel safe walking to the University Village at night and even walked home from the row one week night by my self late. Be cautious and you will be fine.

City/Town/Community:
2 - Fair
2 - Fair
Let's face it, USC is isolated. Unless you have a car or are okay with mooching off of others to take you places, you are kinda stuck on campus. And there's not much to do in the surroundi

Campus Visit Notes for University of Southern California

Visit Description:

When I toured USC, every person I met was nice. Now that I am a freshman at school there going into my second semester, I have found that not many people here really are that nice. I consider myself an outgoing person and I have had a really hard time making friends. I rushed the first week of school which sucked. It was really hard to be putting yourself out there the FIRST week of school only to have yourself heartbroken if you did not get into the house you wanted. However, I did make a few friends during the process. Still, I got off to a bad start with rush and not getting the house I wanted and then I was living at parkside. I moved to New North hoping to make more friends and that definitely did happen, but it is still hard finding nice people. Many of the girls are stuck up and do full hair and make up for 9 am classes. But, there are nice ones as well, they are just harder to find. USC is an interesting place with lots of opportunities, but I'm going to be second semester freshman and am still looking for my niche. My advice to any incoming freshman is to take a FRESHMAN SEMINAR! Mine was AMAZING and I LOVED my professor. We're friends now. Good luck to everyone!

Hotel/Lodging Recommendations or Comments:

The Radisson across the street from campus is the best but the Bonaventure downtown is great as well. We like to stay at the Langham in Pasadena because it's straight up the 110 and easy to get

Dining/Restaurant Recommendations or Comments:

Go to LA Live. They have great restaurants and USC has a shuttle that goes there on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. If you're looking for closer to campus, The Lab in the Radisson is good.
