Campus Tour:
Yes - They aren't exaggerating when they say that the campus is small. It's excrutiatingly small and all of the buildings are brick, viney, and daunting. There campus is also grimey with cigarette
Classroom Visit:
Yes - The classrooms are AMAZING! They're not too big and not too small with stadium-like seating so everyone can see and they have huge screens.
Campus:

There's so many students willing to just chat with you and they rave about their school and are overrall happy with their education at Vassar (although I don't see how)

They were pretty dirty.
Dormitories:
2 - Fair
Really hot, poor ventallation, few ammenities, cramped.
Security/Safety:
5 - Excellent
Security guards check every floor of every building TWICE A NIGHT! There's no need to feel unsafe AT ALL at Vassar. However, many people are so paranoid of having their bikes stolen that they tak
Overall Campus Impression:
2 - Fair
Eh, not all that.
Off-Campus:
Area Immediately Around Campus:
2 - Fair
The street it's located on has cute little restaurants and bistros but the city of Poughkeepsie itself is dirty, ghetto, crowded, loud, not a great college environment. I wouldn't feel safe
City/Town/Community:
2 - Fair
Same as above.
Campus Visit Notes for Vassar College
Visit Description:
Overall, Vassar did not seem like a great place to go for college. The students I talked to were pleased with it but did not have an immense amount of pride. One even shared with me that "all of us are Brown rejects" half-jokingly. The environment is friendly and everyone seems very intellectual but ALL THE GUYS ARE GAY! No, I'm not exaggerating. The campus itself has a lot of litter and pollution with uncut grass and limited benches. It, along with its buildings, seem very unkept. THE CAFETERIA FOOD IS TERRIBLE AND OVERLY PRICED! The dorm where I stayed Jewett, had no ventalation and few ammenities outside of a few laundry machines. The city of Poughkeepsie is a horrible college town with a lot of crime. Basically, Vassar should be half the price tag.
