Visit Activities:

Information Session: Yes - Overall it was informative, although not the greatest info session I have sat through. It seemed I learned more from the questions people asked than from the woman and students at the front.

Campus Tour: Yes - Our tour was extremely long for such a small campus. I want to say it was almost 1 hour 30 minutes. The tour guide we had was WONDERFUL and was very helpful in answering specific questions.

Campus:

Friendliness/Courtesy of Students:
4 - Very Good

The students we met were very helpful in giving my family directions to buildings when we needed help.

Friendliness/Courtesy of Staff:

Appearance of Campus:
5 - Excellent
5 - Excellent
It has a really nice campus, but it's on the small side. The buildings looked well-kept and there was very little litter (as opposed to some campuses I've seen).

Building/Facilities Maintenance/Cleanliness:
4 - Very Good
4 - Very Good
It looked clean and sanitary. In one of the buildings I visited the bathroom, and that passed my inspection.

Dormitories:
5 - Excellent

I LOVED the way the housing system is set up and the freshman dorm we visited looked nice and cozy. It was nice to be able to see an ACTUAL room, too. It was a decent-sized room.

Security/Safety:
4 - Very Good
4 - Very Good
Middletown is relatively safe. Every place has it's problems, but it seemed like if you didn't go looking for trouble you'd be fine. And of course, there was the ubiquitous blue light

Overall Campus Impression:
4 - Very Good
4 - Very Good
The tour made it hard not to like the school, as it was informative and the tour guides were very good at what they did. The campus is lovely and it brought me to decide to eventually apply.

Off-Campus:

Area Immediately Around Campus:
4 - Very Good
4 - Very Good
There are one or two sketchy restaurants in the main street near campus, but also some very nice ones. Not bad, overall.

City/Town/Community:
4 - Very Good

Middletown isn't bad. It's not the best town ever, but it's pretty good.

Campus Visit Notes for Wesleyan University

Visit Description:

I went after school and the timing of eating/tour/information session was horrible. Turns out, you cannot eat in the area around 11 am because most restaurants will open around 11:30. The tour we wished to attend was at 12 and right after that was the information session. We did not eat "lunch" until 4 pm. The tour is very long, so I'd recommend not doing the timings that my family did.
Anyway, our tour was one of three (rather large) tours in that 12 pm time slot. We actually didn't have a key to access a room in the freshman dorm, so the tour guide asked a female student that was walking back to her room. We ended up having her room as our model, and it was nice to see the mess that IS present in a college students room, and not the trussed up room most schools show you.

Dining/Restaurant Recommendations or Comments:

We went to the Forbidden City Bistro. We had immediate service because we were the only ones there because it was so late. Overall, it was pretty good, but not great. It's a Chinese restaurant

Other Comments (Transportation, local attractions, parking, etc.):

Parking is a pain! One should expect to park on the streets or in a farther lot than the one advertised for visitors.
