Visit Activities:
Admissions Interview:
Yes - D attended as part of a scholars competition. Interviewed with current student, alumnae and professor. Group interview resulted in large merit award.
Information Session:
Yes - Very organized and informative. This school is a hidden gem.
Campus Tour:
Yes - Beautiful campus. Required on-campus housing all 4 years and housing improves each year. The senior village is awesome. Dorms are class specific, so community is strong.
Classroom Visit:
Yes - Attended two classes. Both were small, which is typical. She enjoyed both. School offers a Jan.term and many study abroad opportunities. They also have a high NSSE rating. Lots of pre-med students.

This is a beautiful campus. It is small and very well-maintained.

Campus had a strong sense of security and safety. Saw campus police several times at different points.
Overall Campus Impression:

This is Division 1 school, so athletic facilities are very nice. The Carolina Panthers train here in the summer and the students are allowed access to the same equipment they use.

Small town atmosphere. The school provides free bicycles for students to ride into town.
City/Town/Community:

At first glance Spartanburg doesn't seem to have a lot to offer, but upon further investigation there is a lot going on. Lots of arts, good restaurants and shopping. Close to Charlotte.
Campus Visit Notes for Wofford College
Visit Description:
This school is not well-known outside of the south. It is worth looking at since it offers a quality education with lots of chances for merit money. There is a very strong alumni network. Lots of second, third and fourth generation students. Greek life is strong, but parties are open to all and there is a strong sense of community among the students. The January term is required and after 4 years the student has 12 credits- the equivalent of a semester, so it is very easy to graduate in 4 years.

Merriott offers a discount- $97 and is about a half mile away.
Dining/Restaurant Recommendations or Comments:
Lime Leaf Thai- very good.
Other Comments (Transportation, local attractions, parking, etc.):
Great outlet in nearby Gaffney- including a pottery Barn Outlet.
