it is a lovely town, very old in style and buildings, but there are some dangerous parts (as all cities have)
Campus Visit Notes for Yale University
Visit Description:
the place was awesome. was hosted by athletes and coaches, as i was on an official visit (they were recruiting me for track).
the buildings were and are spectacular. i got taken on a private tour of the colleges, the libraries, and the campus in general, as well as athletic facilities. it was amazing, and i cant even describe the feeling i had when i was there.
i felt a great connection with all the people i met - not one was a WASP asshole or a stuck up snob. contrary to the idea that yale is an "old rich white boys club" there is a great mix of people, none of whom are snobby. im fairly sure that i met the sons and daughters of many a millionaire, and maybe even a billionaire, but you would not be able to tell from first impressions. everyone at yale is great in my experience, and if there were any snobs (which im sure there are) they were nowhere to be found while i was there.
as well, the classes i went to, the dining halls i ate at, and the parties i got to go to were just great. yale has the perfect balance -- everyone wants to have fun, but they also understand that they are at an academic school, and academics have priority over constant partying (a big plus in my books, as im a bit of a nerd :P)
all in all, yale is amazing. i cant say enough good things about yale
