My son was also accepted to both colleges in the engineering. He is interested in the 3/5 program. Lafayette requires that you need a 3.5 GPA in order to get into this program. Villanova requires a 3.0. This is a little more attainable at Villanova. Villanova is ranked #8 for it's engineering program and # 1 in the Regional Universities in the US News Reports. I have not even seen Lafayette College in its rankings. The surrounding areas of Lafayette college do not compare to Villanova. We spoke personally to Dr. Weinstein (Dean of the college of Engineering) when we visited Villanova. He was extremely personable and I've read that the students love him. He is very easy to talk to and I can see why he is popular with the students. My son is very excited about Villanova and happy that they at least have some music ensembles on campus which is very important to him. Next weekend we're attending the open house to confirm his decision. I hope I have helped you in what I think of Villanova vs. Lafayette College.

Made a mistake. Dr. Weinstein is the Chair of the Chemical Engineering Department at Villanova.
