Tech engineering
I was just wondering how rigorous the workload is being an engineering major (planning on civil). Don't get me wrong, I know it will consist of a heavy workload, but I want a fair amount of free time. Is this possible?

It is pretty rigorous, but you still get a pretty good amount of free time if you manage your time well.
