Campus Visit Notes for Amherst College

Visit Description:

D loved the campus, and loved the purported benefits of the 5 college consortium. To quote a faculty member, Amherst is "wicked difficult" to get into.

Hotel/Lodging Recommendations or Comments:

Not every B&B on an organic farm is charming.

Dining/Restaurant Recommendations or Comments:

We were surprised that there is ONLY ONE dining hall on campus. Several of us asked "doesn't that get crowded at mealtime?" Answer: yes, sometimes.
