Information Session:
Yes - An admissions person tells you about what makes Amherst unique and a bit about the admissions process. He answers questions and then brings a student to come give you a tour and answer questions too. Campus Tour:
Yes - Amherst is not terribly big and you get to see a good portion of the campus from the library, their own small museum with dinosaur bones and whatnot, to the dorms. Classroom Visit:
Yes - I only remember seeing an archaeology classroom which was very cool with bones and whatnot lying about. I do wonder what other classrooms would be like.
Amherst College Campus:

Our tour guide was so lively and friendly. My dad and I got to campus late and couldn't find the auditorium; this student was nice enough to stop and point us in the right direction.

Very helpful and eager to answer questions and help you learn more about the school.
Appearance of Campus: 5 - Excellent -
Wonderful, open campus. Great facilities.
Dormitories: 5 - Excellent -
Best dorms I've seen. Spacious, clean, love them!
Security/Safety: 3 - Good -
Not mentioned from what I remember but it seemed to be a safe campus.

Amherst is a decent-sized town with a Target and other familiar chain stores/restaurants.
Campus Visit Notes for Amherst College:
Visit Description:
I visited in summer so didn't get as much as a feel for campus as if I had visited while classes were in session.
But the people I met were helpful and friendly. The facilities are very modern and clean and well-maintained.
Quaint city, nice area.
Hotel/Lodging Recommendations or Comments:
We stayed at the Holiday-Inn Select. Free wireless. Five minutes or so from campus.
