Campus Visit Notes for Barnard College:
Visit Description: After passing through a guard station, past the wrought-iron railings, one walks into a beautiful, serene oasis of a campus at Barnard. People swarm around the street (Broadway) below and through the Columbia campus. Barnard feels so removed, above the turmoil of NYC life.

Our tour guide, a pre-med senior, was amazing accomplished, dynamic and warm. Unfortunately, we didn't see any classrooms or dorms. The tour really was more of a walking description of the academics and registration process. Students can eat and study both at Columbia & Barnard. There are many opportunities for internships. About class registration; there is a 2-week class try-out period, however, some classes start right away, making it difficult to catch up if one selects a class toward the end of the two weeks. Also, one registers for a class, then finds out if the class is held at Columbia or Barnard.

Disappointingly, we weren't able to see the art studios, because they were at Columbia!
