Right outside of Barnard is Columbia, which could be both a good and a bad thing. The good is that there are always new people to meet. The bad - some Columbia students could make you feel inferior.

I LOVE Morningside. Such a different feel from the rest of the city, a real college "town" with Columbia, MSM, the Theological Seminaries, etc. A lot of young, hip people. Cute restaurants.

morningside heights is great. theres a row of cute little grocery stores, paper shops, etc as well as a barnes and noble. waaay upper west side feels different from the rest of the city- calmer.
