Campus Visit Notes for Boston College
Visit Description:
At this visit and ever since, everything BC does is well organized.
An important note to parents--go to BC when it is in session to get a real picture of the students and dorm life and the energy of the campus. BC is pretty popular, and there are some wild times BUT it is also a difficult school, so everyone also studies, a lot. They have good financial aid, and a very helpful student services office, the admissions office is very cordial esp for such a popular school.
Hotel/Lodging Recommendations or Comments:
There are hotels from $$$$ to $$ within 15 minutes of BC. The Commonwealth Hotel on Comm Ave about 15 mins by car, also by the T-Green Line is lovely. There are also some fine hotels on the highway if you want to avoid Boston downtown.
Dining/Restaurant Recommendations or Comments:
Newton Centre is the home of many nice restauraunts, dining commons food is good at BC
Other Comments (Transportation, local attractions, parking, etc.):
The T is a quick bus ride away. If you are from out of state, take a duck boat tour in downtown, it's fun and informative.
