Admissions director seemed nice, but I didn't get to see/meet any other faculty members.

It is an urban and relativley modern campus, so there aren't really the old buildings seen at other campuses (I love the old buildings at campuses like Yale).
Building/Facilities Maintenance/Cleanliness:

Simple, small staircases, average...

Blue phones all around, had to swipe a card or go through security to enter the buildings

Fenway Park is only a few blocks away. The river is also really pretty.

It's Boston, which is basically a really really big collegetown. Tons of people, parties, activities, and food. BU has a good location.
Campus Visit Notes for Boston University
Visit Description:
The BU info session was my first real college visit, so I wasn't sure what to expect. The group in the info session was very large: about 100 people. The admissions director reminded me a lot of my high school admissions director, so that was kind of boring. A student (a sophomore I think) supported whatever the admissions director said with his own experience/friend's experience. After the info session, we split into tour groups. My guide was really nice and seemed to love BU. I wasn't too sure about BU after first stepping onto the campus, but it grew on me as I spent more time. The best part of the day was the BU Lunch program. You have to sign up a couple weeks in advance though, so check the website before you go. Basically, three current students took a group of about ten prospective students to lunch at the main dorm. The food was good. There was a wide variety, a waffle maker, and a soft serve ice cream machine (yay!). Overall, I liked BU. However, I have heard stories of people having to stay in the Hyatt in Cambridge across the river, where we stayed for one night. It is a long walk from this hotel to campus, and I would be very annoyed with BU if I had to spend a year there.
Hotel/Lodging Recommendations or Comments:
Along with the Hyatt,we stayed at the Boston Park Plaza for two nights, which was centrally located in Boston if you want to do touristy stuff, like the Freedom Trail, but about a 20-30 minute walk.
Dining/Restaurant Recommendations or Comments:
For food, we just ate at Starbucks for breakfast, lunch at BU, and walked down to the North End for dinner. The North End (kind of like Little Italy) had some awesome pastries...try Modern Pastry: YUM
Other Comments (Transportation, local attractions, parking, etc.):
Take the T...there are about four stops on BU campus. It is really quite simple. Make sure to get a free Charlie Card, as it only costs $1.70 per ride versus the normal $2.
