Visit to Brown University in July 2006 by atnay (Student, HS Class of 2006)

   Campus Tour: Yes
Brown University Campus:
   Friendliness/Courtesy of Students: 5 - Excellent 5 - Excellent - It was summer, so there were no classes going on but the 3 tour guides were all rising brown juniors and were very nice.
   Friendliness/Courtesy of Staff: 5 - Excellent 5 - Excellent
   Appearance of Campus: 5 - Excellent 5 - Excellent - The campus is beautiful, reminded me alot of UC Berkeley.
   Building/Facilities Maintenance/Cleanliness: 4 - Very Good 4 - Very Good - Clean lawns, didn't see any trash, the buildings looked old but not run down.
   Dormitories: 3 - Good 3 - Good - I didn't see any, but the tour guide talked a lot about the housing lottery. I read in a college book that the tour guides don't want you to know about a certain housing area called "new pembroke" which isn't pretty and everybody
   Security/Safety: 5 - Excellent 5 - Excellent - There are restauraunts and stores around the campus, which seems really safe. You can feel relaxed there.
   Overall Campus Impression: 5 - Excellent 5 - Excellent - Very nice.
Off-Campus:
   Area Immediately Around Campus: 4 - Very Good 4 - Very Good - Nice, safe, places to eat, places to shop, suburbanish w/houses.
   City/Town/Community: - I'm not really famillar with Providence, but its not too far away and there are things to do there. There is alot of art, and movies and Providence mall, but the tour guide says you spend most of your time on campus because there are so many things t

Visit Description: I had a good time, too bad brown is wicked hard to get into and wicked expensive!
