Visit Activities:
Information Session:
Yes - Presented by a member of the admissions committee. Since we were a small group, the whole session comprised pretty much only questions. Very helpful, got a sense of what Brown wants
Campus Tour:
Yes - Guided by a sophomore. Very knowledgeable, enthusiastic and funny. Genuinely loved Brown. Even gave us his email to contact him with further questions.
Campus:
Friendliness/Courtesy of Students:
5 - Excellent
Everyone was out on the green, talking or just hanging out, even though finals start soon. I got lost a few times, and they were more than happy to point me on track.
Friendliness/Courtesy of Staff:
5 - Excellent
The admissions officer who presented the info session was very cheerful, and was extremely polite to everyone.
Appearance of Campus:
5 - Excellent
Compact, green, well-kept, but offering everything that a student would need.
Building/Facilities Maintenance/Cleanliness:
5 - Excellent
Dormitories:
4 - Very Good
Went into a friend's. Typical, what one would expect for a college student. Not over-the-top or very fancy.
Security/Safety:
5 - Excellent
The blue light and safe ride systems made the campus seem very safe. Tour guide couldn't recall any major security breaches during his time.
Overall Campus Impression:
5 - Excellent
Off-Campus:
Area Immediately Around Campus:
5 - Excellent
Residential committee, removed from the downtown area. Seemed perfectly fine.
City/Town/Community:
5 - Excellent
I liked what I saw of Providence...which, admittedly, isn't much
Campus Visit Notes for Brown University

I thought Brown was fantastic, and this visit consolidated it as my first choice. The amazingly laid-back atmosphere, friendly students, top-notch academics, enviable location and Ivy allure are just too much to resist :)
Dining/Restaurant Recommendations or Comments:
Ate at the Blue Room. Decent sandwiches.
Other Comments (Transportation, local attractions, parking, etc.):
Park at the visitor parking lot, it's a short walk from the centre of campus.
