Campus Visit Notes for Brown University:
Visit Description:
Overall, I enjoyed visiting Brown. Unlike a few schools I had visited prior, they did not cap the tours or info session, so they were large and it was hard to hear the tour guide. The campus, however, was beautiful and well kept. I ate the in Ratty, the main dining hall and the food was the general college fare, not inedible but not excellent. I visited a sophmore dorm that was nice, though not as large as the other dorms I have visited.
Thayer Street runs right through campus, and hosts an array of shops, restaurants, etc. Downtown Providence is a 15 minute walk from campus, and the Providence Place (or Plaza?) is a huge, relatively new mall that has a TON of stores!
Hotel/Lodging Recommendations or Comments:
The Courtyard Marriott, in downtown Providence, was a 5 minute drive from admissions and very nice.
