Thayer Street is overrated in my opinion (although I come from Harvard Square, so I might be a little spoiled)... |

Thayer street has a lot of shops and small places to eat. The store owners are really friendly--the owner of the Indian goods store always gives you free rings and bracelets just for coming in. |

Okay, but not much to do. Greater Providence would have more, but then it's really not a huge city. |

Pretty decent; there is a cool shuttle bus from the airport that stops everywhere in Providence for about 1/5 the price of a cab. Nice big mall in providence, relatively safe city |

Thayer Street, the main commercial drag adjacent to campus, had a nice variety of shops/cafes/restaurants. Other areas adjacent to campus seemed very safe. |

Providence is right there! It's a quaint and cute city/town. And Thayer Street lacks very little (in terms of what a college student needs anyway!) The upkeep needs a little work (think cracked sidewalk, random contents of Dumpster out and about) |

I love Providence and the areas surrouding the campus. The area is not so intense and crowded that it makes you feel like you've stepped into a completely different environment, but it definitely gives you the feeling that you have undoubtly stepped |

Plenty of restaurants, movie theatres, and stuff to do. Only problem is that downtown Providence has about the cleanliness of NYC. |
