Campus Visit Notes for California Institute of Technology

Visit Description:

I had a very positive impression of Caltech. If you are looking for a school where people are smart and passionate about science and mathematics, I highly recommend going to Caltech. Caltech has such a rich history and culture that I found to be truly unique. A lot of the other schools I visited seemed to offer me the same experience, whereas Caltech really seemed to offer an academic and social experience like no other.

Another thing I noticed was that during my entire experience in applying to and visiting Caltech, there was never a student, admissions officer, or college representative that touted Caltech or tried to "sell me" Caltech. On the other hand, when I visited several other schools, students and admissions officer were constantly trying to convince me to attend their college. I did not feel this pressure from Caltech. Caltech students are not afraid to tell you if they do not think you are a good fit for Caltech, which is a nice trait to have, rather just trying to convince you to go to their college
