Campus Visit Notes for Carnegie Mellon University:
Visit Description:
Very impressed with admissions office staff. They stored our luggage, gave directions and generally made us feel at home. In the admissions office they have internet access, drinks and a large TV. We went after classes were out for the summer but there were quite a few students on campus. The tour was especially entertaining and they answered our many questions. We also stopped at the career center and the CS career counselor visited with us for a long time. That was very informative as to jobs available for students and graduates. Overall we came away very impressed with CMU.
Hotel/Lodging Recommendations or Comments:
Holiday Inn - easy walk to campus, very nice room.
Dining/Restaurant Recommendations or Comments:
Union Grill, Lulu's asian food, Skibo cafe on campus.
Other Comments (Transportation, local attractions, parking, etc.):
Bus to the airport was great, only $2.60 and dropped us across the street from CMU. Picked up 1/2 block from the hotel.
