Quite informative for a college information session, considering they all mostly regurgitate information that can already be found on the website ;]... talked about both colleges, majors, life, etc. [View Full Report] |

Much better than typical info sessions. Alice Huang (asst. director of admissions) gave the talk in a small room in the beautiful Low Library. A bit over crowded, but manageable. [View Full Report] |

Standing room only---very overcrowded, large lecture hall behind the dome and difficult to hear. Student presenter boring, no info that isn't better presented on the website. Two thumbs down! [View Full Report] |

Gave me a good idea of the opportunities available at Columbia. They spent a long time on the Core Curriculum, which I liked because I am highly interested in it. [View Full Report] |

Huge, a little crowded, but they appropriately moved the session to an auditorium in Lerner. The speaker was insightful and answered all questions well. [View Full Report] |

Fairly informative. Nothing really that I didn't know from the CC forums, but the demographic and sheer number of attendees said a lot about the school. Importance of holistic admission emphasize [View Full Report] |

The session was informative but much of the information could be easily found elsewhere. The student input was far more useful as it gave me a more intimate view of CC that the school pamphlets lack. [View Full Report] |

Covered all the bases, with a good explanation of Columbia's core curriculum, of financial aid, ED. Nothing surprising, sometimes hard to hear (large room). [View Full Report] |

It wasn't anything I hadn't hear before but may have been useful for those who haven't already done research on the University. [View Full Report] |

Been to two; first was EXCELLENT, sold me on the school, and the admissions counselor was just lovely. Second was pretty forgettable. [View Full Report] |

The information session was really helpful. The adcom helped tell us what they look for in apps, and also said that she would be worried if you took the SAT more than 3 times. [View Full Report] |

Great info session--the BEST. Adcom was amazing--she knew every single one of the HS's that kids mentioned. She really showcased the Columbia/NYC slightly tough attitude--highly appealing to me. [View Full Report] |

It was very imformative. lol. well they emphasized a lot on standarized test scores rather than the school transcript (kinda odd actually) and didnt even talk about taking challenging courses) [View Full Report] |

There were probably near 100 people present and the admissions officer was very nice and funny. Not really informative though...basically told me the same stuff I already knew and dodged a lot of questions with generic answers. [View Full Report] |
