they're dorms, but they seem pretty nice. Balch (all girls) has sinks in every room.

I fell in love.

Pretty, small. I didn't spend too much time in the area. The airport is cute, though.
Campus Visit Notes for Cornell University:
Visit Description:
I went for the SWE (society of women engineers) days.
I planned on arriving at Cornell at around 10am, but my flight was delayed in La Guardia for 4.5 hours. So I missed information sessions, but it worked out ok. The weather was COLD, but not too bad. I had a brief FA meeting, and then went to a student panel discussion. The student panel was very informative (you're separated from your parents at this point), and they answered well. My mom said that the parent student panel discussion was also very good and helpful.
I stayed with a student overnight--and that went well, it wasn't like..really exciting or anything, but I feel like I got a good feel for the people and stuff. Yes, there are some people that aren't as nice, but it seems like that was the minority of the students. There was a brunch with faculty and then a faculty discussion. I wish that there had been some more male faculty to get some different insight, but as it was SWE, I can understand why there wasn't. That discussion was also good.
My mom and I couldn't make all of the info sessions or tours due to the time problem, but we did do a kind of self-guided tour. We stopped at a desk and a student highlighted things that we should see (according to my major) and everything. That worked out well. I suggest not carrying your luggage while doing so, however. We locked it in a room that was provided.
The campus was beautiful, the waterfalls 'gorges' as they all say. A bridge was under construction and I think some of the dorms are going to be re-done. I was very impressed the second day (Saturday) considering that on friday it was really cold and I was more concerned with that aspect.
At one point, my mom and I were stopped and looking at a map, and a teacher came up to offer us help and was very nice. She gave us directions to a certain library, and recommended some things to us. I felt like everyone was very happy and willing to help.
I loved it, and I think that anyone who visits would. DRESS FOR ALL WEATHER.

I stayed with a student, and my mom stayed at some bed and breakfast thing, which she really liked.
Dining/Restaurant Recommendations or Comments:
We ate on campus--it was really good.
Other Comments (Transportation, local attractions, parking, etc.):
Parking-i have no idea. The airport was really easy to use (like 6 gates), and we used a taxi to get to the campus and to mom's b&b. I didn't see college town, but I have heard that you
