Campus Visit Notes for Davidson College:
Visit Description: I visited Davidson twice- once for an interview, once for the admitted students weekend. Both times I came away extremely impressed. The science facilities would be impressive for a college three time its size, and virtually every science major (biology, chemistry, physics, and psychology/neuroscience) has completed some sort of independent research by graduation. Davidson takes the Honor Code very seriously, and exams can be taken out of class as a result. The Honor Code also results in the presence of communal bikes, used and then returned. The dorms were relatively old and small, but air conditioning has been installed, and bunking or lofting made for a reasonable amount of space. Students get free laundry services, which seemed a big hit. Dining services were extremely clean, efficient, and varied.

Dining/Restaurant Recommendations or Comments: The Soda Shop, almost directly across from the campus, is quite popular with students.

Other Comments (Transportation, local attractions, parking, etc.): Davidson's public library is part of Charlotte library system, making even more books available to Davidson students.
