Never got to see the inside. But they looked really nice on the outside except for the two older buildings. But those 2 buildings were the only two that didn't make me say "Wow! How pretty.& |

They looked like...gasp...college dorms. They were plain and standard. Although, my tour guide said there were big, flat screen TV's in some. Also, quite a few w/o internet and/or AC. |

We weren't allowed inside a dorm for reasons of security. |

The dorms were so-so. Not terrible, but not great either. Going to Duke costs about 50k yet their dorms are really not great at all. Most of them have no air-condition. |

Even though I didn't have the opportunity to go inside the dorms, the outside of the dorms were very nice. Their main problem is that most of them don't have AC, a problem for me during a NC |

Not as good as I was hoping, but that could because I stayed in a selective housing dorm. |

Tour guide showed us her room - it was on the small side, but her first pick (dorms are assigned via a lottery system, and she got 17th draw). However, only 3/~17 freshman dorms are air-conditioned! |

Jarvis (my host's dorm): OK- kind of small rooms, though
Bell Tower: hotel-like, it even had a relaxation room
Randolph: newer than Jarvis, also nice
Epworth: older, bigger rooms than Jarvis |

They were under some sort of repair, cleanup, construction while i was there so I really didnt get to see much. Although they were in pretty poor condition when I was there, im sure they will be in much better condition during the fall. They are actuall |

The dorms are okay...they all seemed to have their tradeoffs. You either get a big room with no ac, or a prison cell-sized room with ac. |

Some of the West Campus dorms are older, and in the process of being renovated, but bonus points for the fact that students essentially live in a cast |
