I felt the campus could be more secure... the area surrounding Duke is not a very safe area. [View Full Report] |

I saw cops. I would be walking around and then tada! - a random police man and/or woman. I felt secluded in the Duke area and safe too. [View Full Report] |

Yellow pole things spread throughout campus. The areas immediately off both campuses, though, were kind of shady and not too great. I would have a mild safety concern alone at night. Not too bad. [View Full Report] |

Have concerns about the area between East and West campuses -- would not want my child walking it alone at any time of day and never at night even with a large group. [View Full Report] |

From my stand point, the safety of the campus was fine. I have heard conflicting beliefs, however. Durham really isn't that great of a town, but it is not as bad as everyone says it is. [View Full Report] |

Of all the campuses we visited this was the only one that DIDN'T mention safety AT ALL! No mention of blue lights, police, etc. Strange in light of the recent murder of a Duke grad student! [View Full Report] |

Felt extremely safe - most of the Duke campus is separated from Durham (which seemed pretty benign) and surrounded by forest. Safety poles arround campus allowed for quick response just in case. [View Full Report] |

At night, the campus was very-well lighted. It's hardly deserted at night- my host and I got back to her dorm at around 1:30 a.m., and there were still many people on the bus back to East. [View Full Report] |

I can only guess at this but the tour guide said that the campus police did an excelent job at keeping Duke safe. Therefore I have no other choice than to give Duke a 5. [View Full Report] |
