Visit to Emory University in February 2006 by gonzo lux (Student, HS Class of 2006)
Visit Activities:
Information Session: Yes - this was done by some admissions counselor. she answered everyone's questions, plus stayed after for any individual ones.
Campus Tour: Yes - ok, so my tour guide was nice, but he did make some interesting comments. like "there has never been a demand for an all-male dorm." he could have been a bit more well informed
Emory University Campus:
Friendliness/Courtesy of Students: 3 - Good 3 - Good - i saw a lot of students, but not a whole lot of interaction. this was probably because i was on a tour.
Friendliness/Courtesy of Staff: 4 - Very Good 4 - Very Good - most everyone was very nice. the woman at the desk in admissions was a bit cold though.
Appearance of Campus: 5 - Excellent 5 - Excellent - the campus was very beautiful. plenty of bustling activity with almost no cars in sight. the quad was extraordinary.
Building/Facilities Maintenance/Cleanliness: 5 - Excellent 5 - Excellent - all the buildings were nice and clean. though the inside of the DUC does look kinda like a spaceship.
Dormitories: 4 - Very Good 4 - Very Good - i liked the one i saw, but it was a show room. i do like it better when it is an actual lived in room.
   Security/Safety: 5 - Excellent 5 - Excellent
Overall Campus Impression: 4 - Very Good 4 - Very Good - i had a wonderful day at a beautiful college.
Off-Campus:
Area Immediately Around Campus: 5 - Excellent 5 - Excellent - lots of trendy shops and big houses
   City/Town/Community: 5 - Excellent 5 - Excellent - well, it's atlanta.
Campus Visit Notes for Emory University:
Visit Description: i went on a regular visitation day, but it was during my school's spring break so there were quite a few people there. the admissions office itself did not feel very receiving. the actual campus did feel that way though. the libraries were beyond all expectations. lots of white in the buildings.
