Visit to Georgetown University in July 2007 by dande1114 (Student, HS Class of 2008)
Visit Activities:
Information Session: No - crowded. fairly decent...rambled way too much about academics and not student life or diversity (or lack thereof) or...anything else really. Campus Tour: Yes - Nice tour. TOO BIG A GROUP. you are supposed to schedule in advance but people always show up who never signed up so it was crowded.
Georgetown University Campus:
Friendliness/Courtesy of Students: 4 - Very Good - Students that we spoke to were not the FRIENDLIEST but they were nice. Depends who you spoke to. Friendliness/Courtesy of Staff: 4 - Very Good - nice. Appearance of Campus: 5 - Excellent - Beautiful. Building/Facilities Maintenance/Cleanliness: 5 - Excellent - Once again, beautiful. Dormitories: 3 - Good - Wouldn't know...we only went on the roof of a dorm, not in one. Security/Safety: 3 - Good - fine? Overall Campus Impression: 3 - Good - I love location and buildings but I had a not-so-comforting feeling about the people. i am probably definitely off..but it proved to be an AMAZING CAMPUS just not the right people, student type for me

Area Immediately Around Campus: 5 - Excellent - sooo cute City/Town/Community: 5 - Excellent - Georgetown is adorable
Campus Visit Notes for Georgetown University:
Visit Description: As I said, we went for a tour and visit and then....got out of there. I will not apply, and it was originally my second choice.... a bad feeling about the homogeneous of the student body is my reason for not applying. Hotel/Lodging Recommendations or Comments: Marriott Wardman Park..when the renovations are done...it should be amazing. Other Comments (Transportation, local attractions, parking, etc.): PARKING IS FOR ONLY 2 HOURS! so be careful. we only barely got out in time
