Visit Activities:
Information Session:
Yes - GAAP Weekend
Classroom Visit:
Yes - Sat in on a theology class.
Campus:
Friendliness/Courtesy of Students:
5 - Excellent
All the students seemed to love their school, and they were all very eager to tell us '12s anything we wanted to know about the school.
Friendliness/Courtesy of Staff:
5 - Excellent
Staff = students at Georgetown. Basically everything was student-run.
Appearance of Campus:
5 - Excellent
Healy Hall--wow. Also the Romanesque style of so many of the academic halls really blew me away, as did the landscaping and the closeness of everything.
Building/Facilities Maintenance/Cleanliness:
4 - Very Good
There was a lot of trash on the ground after Day 1. Understandable, though, given the insane number of students hanging out on the lawn (probably almost 1000).
Dormitories:
5 - Excellent
Perfect. Close to the center of campus, spacious, and with good lighting and bathrooms.
Security/Safety:
5 - Excellent
Georgetown is to Washington D.C. what Westwood or Beverly Hills is to Los Angeles, CA. It's basically the richest part of town, and that's reflected in the safety of the surrounding area.
Overall Campus Impression:
5 - Excellent
Simply beautiful. Being adjacent to the Potomac River doesn't hurt the views, either (this is sarcasm--the river makes everything especially picturesque).
Off-Campus:
Area Immediately Around Campus:
5 - Excellent

City/Town/Community:
5 - Excellent

Campus Visit Notes for Georgetown University
Visit Description:
With the exception of the seemingly understaffed and underperforming science department, Georgetown U seemed almost heavenly. The "A-" rating for Girls is no overstatement; honestly, half the girls I saw around town were a 9 or 10 (no joke). Georgetown seems like it has a fun, smart, attractive, and spirited student body. The only thing keeping me back from making a final decision is the science department, since I am planning on going to medical school and want to make sure I learn as much as I can during classes like Bio, Orgo, and Physics to maximize my MCAT score. Northwestern and Notre Dame are my other choices, both of which I'm visiting next weekend. As for now, Hoya Saxa.
Oh, and they also gave me a free shirt that says Hoya '12 on the back. I was impressed.
Hotel/Lodging Recommendations or Comments:
Georgetown Leavey Marriott--less than $200 per night and right at the heart of the campus.
Dining/Restaurant Recommendations or Comments:
The Tombs is a restaurant located a couple blocks away from Healy Hall (Any Gtown student could tell you how to get there). American cuisine with a Hoya-centric theme, The Tombs is also inexpensive.
Other Comments (Transportation, local attractions, parking, etc.):
I'd check out the city if I were you. Take a cab to the National Gallery of Art, see the monuments, and enjoy D.C. It's a great city.
