I like DC, though it's pretty hot/humid in the summer. As with all cities, exercise caution, don't venture into nontourist areas unless you are familiar with the neighborhood.

Georgetown is the best place in DC. Its amenities overpower the tourist-- and its far enough away from the mall. I guess there is good night life as well

There's definitely an elitist feel to the surrounding area because there's a lot of expensive, brand name stores but if you love to shop, you'll be more than fine at Georgetown.

DC is great! However, you do not seem close enough to DC or the metro to make DC convenient - they did describe a shuttle system, GUTS.
