Visit Activities:

Information Session: Yes - I thought the information session was great. The woman who spoke to us was extremely friendly and gave a lot of good information on what the school is about and how warm the school is.

Campus Tour: Yes - I thought the tour was good. I had a senior who was majoring in English and Theater. He was friendly and said hi to a lot of people around campus which was really nice to see.

The students around looked happy and very diverse in the way they dressed, which is what I liked. I liked seeing not just one type of person, and I feel like I got the sense that anyone could fit in.

The woman who gave us the information session was very friendly and the person at the receptionist's desk was also really nice when I spilt hot chocolate all over their table with all the magazin

I love the look of the campus. I really like how it is enclosed and is very safe. I think the buildings are all really nice, and the campus is pretty easy to figure out and not all over the place.

Nothing to complain about. Really nice construction is being done which will consist of a new library, dining hall, and more.

The tour guide took us to his dorm, which was an apartment and I think anyone after Freshman can try to get them and it was extremely nice. I've seen regular dorms too and they looked average.

Everyone we talk to at Goucher always says how safe the campus is. They say it's almost too safe! After dark you can't get on campus without a security guard stopping you. Comes off really s

I really loved it. While the trees were a little more dead than usual and there was snow around, I thought the campus was extremely appealing.

There is a huge mall right across the street from the school and it has a lot of good stores and restaurants around it. Also the neighborhood the school is in looks really safe.

This is one school that I feel is in a really great area. There's so much to do, and it's really hard to find a school that is in a good neighborhood. It's in Towson, and right outside

Campus Visit Notes for Goucher College

Visit Description:

I thought the visit was great! I've always loved Goucher and I think the school has so many things going for it. My favorite part of the school is probably the friendlyness and warmth not only that the faculty and students talk about, but that I actually see when I'm walking around. I also like that the school seems very well-rounded academically and the school isn't pushing for a student to enter with a decided major. I've asked some students about the academics, and they said there is a good amount of work and it is challenging, but it's all manageable. I also hear the professors are extremely nice and helpful and they really get to know you which I think shows they care. The food on campus is also good, and the students said they could find food they like at all of the dining halls. Some of my answers got cut off, so I'd also like to add there's so much to do around campus. While they say there is a lot to do on campus (it's definitely not a suitcase school!), it is in such a great neighborhood. Towson has great little restaurants all around (all different types of food - Italian, Indian, Japanese, Thai, Middle Eastern...) a few really cute movie theaters, a huge mall with a lot of stores in it and restaurants around the outside (including the Cheesecake factory!), and Baltimore is really close by and has a lot to do too (including great theater and sports!).

Hotel/Lodging Recommendations or Comments:

The Sheraton Hotel is about 5 minutes away. You could literally walk off campus and you're at the Sheraton. It's a really nice hotel too.

Dining/Restaurant Recommendations or Comments:

The mall has many restaurants and is a minute away. There's the Cheesecake Factory attached and other restaurants around it too. There are a lot of other really nice little restaurants in Towson.
