We stayed at a Best Western in Waltham and learned after our mistake of driving to Harvard that it wasn't far from Alewife on the subway, where you can park and ride, which was great. |

Stay as close as possible to the college since getting around wasn't that easy. Construction made matters worse. Parking not cheap. |

There are numerous hotels near by but they can be pretty expensive. |

Stayed in Framingham, about 20 miles out, to save $$$. You can take the train from Harvard to downtown Boston for $1.25, but if you have a car the roads are not bad at all at most times in Boston, but the Cambridge streets are confusing and brutal. |

The Cambridge Mariott is nice and is very close to MIT if you are interested in visiting each. |
